Rootstrikers is a non-partisan, grassroots activist organization that is fighting the corrupting influence of money in politics. Rootstrikers was founded in April, 2011 by professor and activist Lawrence Lessig, and political activist Joe Trippi. Rootstrikers serves as a facilitator for a non-partisan, citizen led effort to remove corporate lobbyists’ influence over Congress and to reform campaign finance. In November 2011, Rootstrikers, along with Change Congress and Fix Congress First, became a project of United Republic, a non-partisan 501 (c) 4 organization.
