- The Benkei is a mobile suit that appears briefly in the Gundam Build Fighters television series. Its pilot looks suspiciously like Alfred Izuruha
- Benkei (「ベンケイ」?; Benkei) is a traveling Buddhist monk whose one purpose in life is to collect 1000 swords. It was stated by Benkei that he already had 999 swords at the time Amaterasu and Issun met him in Sei'an City[Citation needed]. However, it was not stated whether he was only after legendary swords or any run-of-the-mill sword as used by any random warrior.
- Benkei (弁慶) is a famously known as Yoshitsune Minamoto's devoted companion in myths and folklore. Often heralded as a warrior monk of peerless strength and stature, Benkei stayed beside Yoshitsune thenceforth and has even been fabled to have stayed near his lord after their deaths. His incarnation in the Harukanaru Toki no Naka de series acts as the the Suzaku of Earth (地の朱雀, Chi no Suzaku) for his era's White Dragon Priestess.

- Stories about Benkei's birth vary considerably. One tells how his father was the head of a temple shrine who had raped his mother, the daughter of a blacksmith. In his youth Benkei may have been called —"demon/ogre child", and there are many famous Ukiyo-e works themed on 'Oniwakamaru' and his adventures.During his life he is said to have defeated 200 men in each battle he was personally involved in.
- Benkei is a purist from the Wushanko Isles who is considered an extremist even by Purist standards. He is the nemesis of Sojobo, and and is involved in The Tengu's story voyages in Player-owned ports, in addition to the Guardians of the World trio voyages.
