The name of this jutsu comes from the shape of it, as it looks like a small galaxy on Takatsuke's palm. It also strongly resembles Wind Release: Rasenshuriken in it's shape. Due to the intense spinning motion of the lightning chakra in this technique, Chouginga Chidori creates a strong magnetic field, capable of magnetizing metal items that end up in the field. According to Naruto, the Chouginga Chidori in it's current form is still an incomplete jutsu. However, he hasn't spesified what he means by this.

The Chouginga Chidori is a powerful technique, capable of generating a strong blast of lightning when colliding with an enemy. It also entails the piercing nature of lightning chakra; Hotaku Kamateru explains that the Chouginga Chidori first pierces its way inside the body of the enemy and then releases a blast of lightning formed of countless microscopic spears of lightning, effectively piercing through every cell of the victim's body. This explosive power doesn't come without a major drawback, however. Whenever Takatsuke uses this technique, he must shield his own body with the chakra cloak of one of his tailed forms to prevent it from hitting his body with its full force as well; however, even this protection cannot fully shield him from all the blast damage. In addition, the electric charge released at the impact point is also conducted to Takatsuke's body, effectively electrocuting him. His first use of this technique impacted his body so harshly that he had to stay bedridden for days, and even long after that his right arm (in which he wielded the technique) was left numb and damaged. Due to this, the Chouginga Chidori was labeled as a Kinjutsu. According to Naruto, the Chouginga Chidori in it's current form is still an incomplete jutsu.
