  • Eurypterids are a family of poisonous, sea-born vermin also known as sea scorpions. Aggressive predators, they look somewhat like a cross between a scorpion and some form of crustacean. They are known to exist in a large variety of shapes and sizes, from the dog-sized ochre eurypterid, to the truly colossal spitting eurypterid. Although generally preferring to live and hunt in the water, they have been known to scuttle up on land in search of prey, and are thought to be able to exist on land indefinitely. Other known species include the common, bluetip, and spiny eurypterid.
