Verland is quite isolated from the rest of Sylvania. It is closer to some settlements in the state of Kings than any Sylvanian hamlet. As a result, the hamlet has been influenced more by Kings than Sylvania in terms of economic activity. Verland operates a large harbour that is used by the ferry to reach destinations in Kings, including Newcastle. A lot of marine trade routes to Kings and Seven start in Verland. It is a minor competitor with Pool when it comes to maritime trading from and to the north of Lovia. Verland is the one of the few places in Lovia where the Dutch language is still thriving.
