  • Jody Krementz (b. 1977; d. 12 Oct 2000) was an actress who lived with her roommate Jane Gilley at 1001 Nichols Canyon Road in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles County. She performed under the stagename of Donatella Speers. On 12 October 2000, Krementz attended the premier of Dead Point with the film's director, David Storey. The next morning, she was found dead in her bed by her roommate in their Nichols Canyon house, apparently the victim of self-inflicted autoerotic asphyxiation. The case was assigned to LAPD detectives Harry Bosch and Jerry Edgar, who questioned the appearance of the death as accidental. An autopsy was performed by Dr. Teresa Corazón on 17 October 2000, at which time it was determined that Krementz had not died from autoerotic asphyxia, but from strangulation by another person. The investigation into her death was assigned the case number 00-897. Storey was arrested a week later, and stood trial for murder in January of 2001.
