The Social Democratic Party of Dorvik (Dorvish: Sozialdemkoratische Partei Dorvik) is the oldest active political party in Dorvik. Officially founded in 2000 during the Popular Revolution but prior to the revolution was a popular, big-tent movement encompassing all opposition movements to the Dorvish monarchy. The party was initially the most popular and powerful political party but eventually collapsed and has seen several re-creation attempts most recently in direct opposition to the Dorvish Reich, where it succeeded in a return to democracy.

abstract	The Social Democratic Party of Dorvik (Dorvish: Sozialdemkoratische Partei Dorvik) is the oldest active political party in Dorvik. Officially founded in 2000 during the Popular Revolution but prior to the revolution was a popular, big-tent movement encompassing all opposition movements to the Dorvish monarchy. The party was initially the most popular and powerful political party but eventually collapsed and has seen several re-creation attempts most recently in direct opposition to the Dorvish Reich, where it succeeded in a return to democracy. The Social Democratic Party stands on a basis of a socially just democracy which supports is population and it's people. Despite not having any national political representation the party is extremely powerful at a regional level and most often competes with major national political parties. Political experts believes that the party lacks a charismatic leadership to re-enter national politics. Former Dorvish President, Felix Böhm stated that his greatest opponent was the ever present threat of the Social Democratic Party returning because he'd even have trouble not voting for them. The party is lead by a Secretary-General, currently Penko Vasilev. A prominent Mothin businessman who entered politics. The party in the past decade has experienced vast success in regional elections and has competed fiercely with the Dorvish Conservative Party for Minister-Presidencies in numerous states including Kordusia, a typically conservative state and supporter of the party.
