My ideas for the MLB Network. 1. * Quick Pitch will be daily. 2. * QP MVP and other votes will be removed. It is a highlights show, not The Rundown or Intentional Talk. 3. * The show will return back into Studio 42, rather than Studio 21. 4. * No more dual partners. If there's a small schedule, spend more time doing highlights in games. 5. * Around the area where they show time, there will also be an attendance area, which will show how many people came to the game. 6. * The host must read the highlights and not rely on clips from the actual game (on the final product). 7. * Exceptions will be Vin Scully in the Dodger games and rarely, other announcers. 8. * The Rundown will air from 2PM-5PM. 9. * There will be a new full-time "At This Hour" a

The network soft-launched on December 16, 2008 with a rolling automated loop of archival programming and promotions for the network for cable systems that carried the network's transmissions leading up to the January 1 launch. Major League Baseball is the fourth major North American professional sports league to launch its own network. NBA TV dates back to 1999, the NFL Network to 2003, and the US version of the NHL Network to 2007. However, MLBN is carried in the most households of these four networks, largely because of the financial participation of the cable systems. Tony Petitti, former executive producer of CBS Sports, has been named the network's first president.
