Their belief was that the decay and entropy of everything was not only inevitable but a good thing, and what was "supposed" to happen. Though they did not generally act only to destroy everything they came across, they were in favour of the ideas of entropy and chaos and may well have been disposed to help them along in ways they saw as suitable. They were also not likely to worry much about the cessation, decay or destruction of anything, since that would have been against their tenets.

En los últimos tiempos se les ha empezado a distinguir de manera común como raza dentro de su especie. Han formado tradicionalmente parte de la Legión Ardiente a las órdenes de Archimonde hasta que este fue derrotado en el Monte Hyjal. Tras esto algunos se convirtieron en mercenarios aunque la mayoría han permanecido fieles a la Legión a las órdenes de Lord Kazaak y Kil'jaeden.

The Doomguard had a tower called Citadel Alluvius on the Plane of Dust, where everything slowly disintegrated into dust. The Doomguard also built Citadel Exhalus, the Portal of the Last Breath, on the border between the Negative Energy Plane and the Quasi-elemental Plane of Vacuum.

Hrůzostrašní Doomguardi kdysi sloužili jako osobní doprovod Archimonda. Po jeho porážce byli volní a nyní jsou roztroušeni všude po vesmíru. Mimo to, věří, že Archimonde se ještě někdy vrátí a opět jim bude vládnout. Jak již bylo psáno, jsou vskutku skvělými stratégy. Boj: Doomguardi se na bitvu většinou dobře připraví a zaměří na největší sílu armády, což jsou většinou čarodějové. Používají širokou škálu kouzel - Shadowburn, Immolate, Śhadow Strike, Unholy Aura, Fire storm - a poté se zaměří na armádu samotnou. Pro destrukci armád využívají Rain of Fire nebo Hellfire, zejména, když mají po boku spojence, kteří jsou imunní vůči ohni - možná, že Doomguardi mají nějakou určitou starost, nebo je to prostě strategie. Zejména ledové útoky (kouzla) jsou proti Doomguardům účinné. Jejich další nebezpečnou schopností je dupnutí svým kopytem. Podobně jako u taurenů, většinou omráčí nepřátelé v okolí a proto jej také využívá Doomguard s rozvahou, takže v boji tváří v tvář. Pokud se bitva nevede dle démonových představ, pokouší se teleportovat z boje pryč. Doomguardi používají různé zbraně, téměř vždy očarované.
