The Republic of Zaire is a vast nation located within Central Africa. It is a largely modern state, with a population of 37.6 million citizens, most of whom reside within cities. The national economy is based on industrial exports, usually raw materials of which the country is believed to have US$24 trillion worth of. The government has heavily subsided mining in the province of Katanga and Kivu, where the majority of these resources are located. Mining accounts for 15% of all jobs in the country.
