The myths compiled in the Parwiccan Cycle told of the Tearfall, the felling of the red dragon Mahatnartorian at the hands of elves from Tintageer, and the crusades of the first dragonborn against the dragonspawn, among other events. Many respected scholars, such as most of the sages of Candlekeep, dismissed the Parwiccan Cycle as just a compilation of fancy elven mythology with no relationship with actual historical facts. However, events such as the return of the dragonborn race in 1359 DR proved that the Parwiccan Cycle was in fact a compilation of historical events.
