  • The Best Song on B8 was originally run by SephirothG, and later picked up by KCF, through a series of topics centering around a single musical artist and users would state their favorite song from that artist. The song with the most votes would be declared the best song by that artist and made itself eligible to go into the tournament at the end. However, 141 artists were done and the tournament was for 128 entrants. The result was a special topic where users gave points to the songs they wished to see in the contest the most and took away points from the songs they wanted to keep out. The entire list wasn't involved, only a select group of songs that SephyG believed to have weaker potential in the contest. Ironically, a Divisional Finals member in "What's Golden" by Jurassic 5 was a part of this process. This eliminated 13 songs and left the 128 songs needed to begin the contest. When the contest came around, one would have never guessed that hip-hop would do so well and that metal would sizzle. However, hip-hop songs churned out victory after victory and most metal songs, and possibly all, didn't make it past round two. The strongest performers were classic rock songs and when the semifinals came around, they filled 3 of the 4 spots. The other was held by an alternative hip-hop song called "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz. "Feel Good Inc." blew out their first two opponents but had close matches all the way up until the semifinals where they had a 5 point victory over "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. In the other semifinal match, "Baba O'Riley" by The Who beat "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult by a smaller margin. The finals was always close but except for a tie here and there, "Feel Good Inc." was always in the lead and came out on top by the score of 21-17, giving it the title of "Best Song on B8" for 2010. It is unknown if this will be an annual, occasional, or one time event
