Adam Collin is a highly rated Goalkeeper with Conference North Conference North side Workington. Collin started his career in football with Newcastle United as a youngster. In a quirk of fate, as Thompson was suspended for the first match of the new season, Collin made his debut in Reds 4-0 home win over Matlock Town. Collin kept clean sheets in each of his first four matches to establish himself as Workington's Number 1. Collin had a superb season and the Workington defence conceeded only 30 goals in 42 games. He was sent off in Workington's 1-0 away defeat at Hyde United in April 2005 for handball outside the area. His suspension was overturned after a video proved he was inside the box, he was the first Workington player to have a suspension quashed in such a manner. Collin became a hero for Workington saving 3 penalties in a Shoot-out against Farsley Celtic on 17th May 2005, Workington won 6-5 to win promotion to the Conference North. Collin continued to be Workington's number 1 in Conference North, He made 41 starts During the 2005-06 season and a further 42 during the 2006-07 season. Collin has been linked with moves to Sheffield Wednesday on several occasions during his time at Workington. He was recently at the centre of a fall out between Workington and Carlisle United after he was invited to train with the Brunton Park club.
