- Bolas (a.k.a. Bola Shot) is a Demon Hunter skill in Diablo III. Of all Primary skills, it potentially deals most damage, but has a slight delay before impact, giving enemies time to come closer.
- When a bola is thrown as an auto-attack, it binds the NPC or player for around 10 seconds. It is possible to miss the bind as with other attacks from a weapon, although the bola seems to have high accuracy. Auto-attacks and abilities using a bola deal no damage. Interestingly, Fragmentation Shot always binds the target if it does not miss, but all other ranged abilities (excluding binding abilities) do not apply the bind. Anticipation and Freedom will work against bolas. Thrown bolas cannot be retrieved from the ground or by Ava's device.
- Bolas are a type of weapon used to incapacitate dragons.

- Bolas consists of two or three stone or metal weights, joined together by cords. As well as causing damage, a bolas will entangle a victim on a successful hit; victims may attempt a Dex test each round to free themselves, but count as prone targets while entangled. A bolas never causes additional damage and critical hits are always at -10% on the chart. A negative critical hit result indicates that there is no critical hit.
- The Bolas is a Yautja weapon used once in the Predator: Big Game, the Bolas carry a powerful electrical current, which instantly kills victims on impact.
- Bolas is a skill, described in Basic Set, p. 181. It is referenced in Basic Set, p. 410, on throwing the bolas, and in GURPS Low-Tech Companion 2: Weapons and Warriors™, p. 17, on throwing flails, two-handed flails, and kusaris.
- Bolas are weapons given to Tak by Mind-Reading Juju once Tak find all three magic stones at Greenheart Forest. Bolas are used to bind enemies, grapple totems and enemies, remove an enemy's shield, and when powered with juju, attacks small enemies.
- A set of bolas consists of two or three spheres connected by long cords to a central point. The spheres may be made of heavy wood, metal, or leather bags filled with stones. The cords may be woven leather straps or heavy twine. A typical bolas costs 5gp and weighs 2lbs (0.9kg).
- Bolas will deal no damage to an enemy; they only restrain them. The effectiveness of this restraint depends on the target.
* On another player, Bolas will hold the other player for 15 seconds. If the other player is using Protect or Deflect Missiles, the time is halved. If the player is wielding a slash weapon or has a knife in their inventory, the time would also be halved, and the two effects stack, cutting down the bind time to a minimum of 5 seconds.
* On NPCs, the Bolas generally hold them in place for only 10 seconds, but are highly accurate.
- Bolas are a throwing weapon consisting of a string (or multiple strings) tied to several weights, with the most common number being three. It can be thrown with the string, but some are attached to handles. The weapon is usually used as a throwing weapon, with the weights hitting the opponent multiple times. However, it can also be used as a melee weapon, much like a mace and chain.
