Written, directed and produced by Leslie Iwerks (granddaughter of pioneer Ub Iwerks), it also featured appearances by filmmaker George Lucas, Steve Jobs (of Apple fame who purchased the studio from Lucas and turned it into Pixar), Pixar's chief creative officer John Lasseter and Roy Disney. Also appearing was Tom Hanks (the voice of Woody), Tim Allen (the voice of Buzz Lightyear), and Billy Crystal (the voice of Mike Wazowski). In 2007, Iwerks released a more detailed documentary titled The Pixar Story, which was nominated for an Emmy.
