Try clicking on the sim you wish to edit, and if their IS an option, select it. if not, you should probrbly just restart the game. (Another answerer) There's a cheat you can use to edit a sim. To enter the cheat console, hit ctrl+shift+c, then type in 'edit in cas' <--- DOES NOT WORK.

You can change the clothing, hair and makeup of a Sim already in play, but I have not seen the way to change the physical size. TO change hair and makeup: Purchase a mirror and place it by the dresser. Have your Sim go to the dresser by clicking the dresser and choosing "go here" or "plan outfit" Once s/he is at the mirror, click it and choose "change appearance." The Sim Creator will appear and you can change the clothing and click the check box. The next option to appear will be the hair and makeup. Make your changes and click the check box again. Your Sim will appear in the game with the new clothing/hair/makeup you chose.
