He rejoined the industry in 2005, writing a number of series for both DC and Marvel, including The Punisher, Wolverine, Aquaman, Blade, and The Flash. He also created Resurrection, a comic published by Oni Press. Around this same time, he co-created the television show Eli Stone, which ran for two seasons, writing five episodes of the twenty-six filmed.
