  • I grew up in the Detroit area watching the Red Wings. My dad has been a season ticket holder for about 25 years now, so I went to games all the time as a kid. Of course. Sometimes I also like HOCKEY or HOCKEY, but hockey always comes first. Probably the Canucks fans. They're not a team that people have much reason to bandwagon, outside of having the league's best goalie, so they're loyal. They also have a favorable ratio of good users to idiots. Steve Yzerman The obvious choice is the last game of the 1997 playoffs, because the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup.

They're not a team that people have much reason to bandwagon, outside of having the league's best goalie, so they're loyal. They also have a favorable ratio of good users to idiots. Up until a few years back, I'd go to a handful of Red Wings games each season. But now I live across the state from Detroit, and only make it back for about one game a year. Steve Yzerman The obvious choice is the last game of the 1997 playoffs, because the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup. Another good game was the 95-96 Red Wings home opener. There were rumors that Detroit was looking to trade off Yzerman to Ottawa that season, after not winning the cup the previous year. Yzerman got an ovation for several minutes when he was introduced at the start of that game, and the Wings beat the Oilers 9-0. Hopefully still where they are now. Getting Zetterberg locked up is good for the future, and there are more promising young players in the system. Until the front office really changes around, I don't see Detroit dropping too far.
