  • Hayley and Stan visit several Presidential historical sites in flashback to celebrate Presidents Day in "Garfield and Friends". Although Hayley is always an unwilling participant at first, being kept on a leash thought her visits and even being forced to accompany Stan in the restroom, she does warm up by the end of each trip, as she is shown proudly wearing a t-shirt from her visit to Johnson's historical site.
  • Andrew Johnson was President of the United States during the late 1860s. President Johnson's favorite fireplace was in the Mural Room of the White House and he used to sip whiskey from a charcoal keg by that fireplace while reading.
  • Andrew Johnson (December 29, 1808 – July 31, 1875) was the 17th President of the United States (1865–69), succeeding to the Presidency upon the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. He was the first U.S. President to be impeached. At the time of the secession of the Southern states, Johnson was a U.S. Senator from Greeneville in eastern Tennessee. As a Unionist, he was the only southern Senator not to quit his post upon secession. He became the most prominent War Democrat from the South and supported the military policies of US President Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War of 1861–1865. In 1862 Lincoln appointed Johnson military governor of occupied Tennessee, where he proved to be energetic and effective in fighting the rebellion and beginning transition to Reconstruction. • Andrew Johnson (December 29, 1808 July 31, 1875) was the 17th President of the United States, serving from 1865 to 1869. Johnson became president as Abraham Lincoln's at the time of Lincoln's assassination. A Democrat who ran with Lincoln on the National Union ticket, Johnson came to office as the Civil War concluded. The new president favored quick restoration of the seceded states to the Union. His plans did not give protection to the former slaves, and he came into conflict with the Republican-dominated Congress, culminating in his impeachment by the House of Representatives. The first American president to be impeached, he was acquitted in the Senate by one vote.
  • Andrew T.B. Johnson (San Francisco, 1844 - Noble City, 1902) was an American-born Founding Father of Lovia. He came to the Lovia Archipelago on the schooner Francis II, led by future monarch Arthur Noble. He was a journalist in San Francisco before the great crossing and worked for the same newspaper as Arthur Noble. In Lovia, he became a leading discoverer of the outer islands of the archipelago. Andrew Johnson remained a journalist once in Noble City and even started writing shortly after. His best known books are his autobiographical adventure stories and his famous Judy series. In 1876, he became the first person to see Kings' Peak. In 1877, he actually attempted to climb the mountain. He was climbing alone and broke his arm, so he was unable to continue. He returned with no success. B
  • FE 1 A 07 AC.jpg Andrew Johnson was the first US President to be impeached. He is generally considered to be one of the worst Presidents, though one could easily argue it's not entirely his fault. He was the only senator from a seceding state to remain pro-Union, so he was chosen as Lincoln's running mate to broaden the ticket's appeal and garner votes from Southern sympathizers. He was never intended to be anything other than a grab for votes. Then Lincoln got shot. Oops. For a one-minute summary of his life check out this video.
