The American Robin is a common bird found across North America. It has a rufous belly, and its body is gray. It has a charcoal to black head and a bright yellow beak. I took the photo you see now in my backyard. It's a robin, likely male, sitting on a branch. It looks like this robin has been recently rooting in the dirt for worms--there is soil on its beak. They eat mostly insects and worms but I have seen them eating seeds at my feeder. Their eggs are the famous "robin's egg blue" color, a pastel baby blue shade. Please enlarge the photo. The default size gives it poor quality.
