The sudden quiet following his death, and the wide-eyed expression he wore, stunned Vargas, deeply affecting him, and he would not allow anyone to change his wound's dressing following the incident as it reminded him of his dead compatriot. Dafür zerreißt er extra seine Uniform, als er plötzlich von Phaserfeuer der Jem'Hadar niedergestreckt wird. Vargas berichtet dem Föderationsarzt Dr. Bashir später, dass er anschließend nur da gesessen und McGreevey angestarrt habe. Er habe es sogar toll gefunden, dass McGreevey endlich still gewesen ist.
