Rebels proclaim the Republic of New South Wales , and name Phillip Cunningham their leader. * 20th March: The Republic dispatches a ship to the French colony of Ile de France (Mauritius), asking them for assistance against a possible British re-takeover. * 30th September: The ship reaches Ile de France.
