Astyanax I was the eighth Emperor of the Heracleidae Empire, reigning from 865 - 840 BC, and the son of the previous ruler, Telephos I. His long reign was a constant series of campaigns against various states including the Scythians and Phrygians. His armies penetrated as far east as Lake Vahagn and the Tauros mountains; forcing several nations to pay tribute to the crown.
