The 2016 Atlantic hurricane season was the second-most active Atlantic hurricane season on record. With 28 total tropical cyclones, 25 named storms, 16 hurricanes, and 10 major hurricanes, the only season to surpass this level of activity was the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season.
