Doreen Keogh was born in Dublin and played Concepta Riley/Hewitt/Regan in Coronation Street from 1960 to 1964 with two return appearances in the early 1970s. She continued to act after leaving the programme in programmes such as Doctor in Charge, Doctor in the House and the play Cat in the Bag with Alan Rothwell. In the 1990s she had regular roles in two popular comedies, Father Ted, and The Royle Family. Doreen trained at the Abbey Theatre School in Ireland and worked at the Gate Theatre, building a successful career in classical plays.
