  • Big Bird's Story Time is a 1987 Sesame Street direct-to-video special in the "My Sesame Street Home Video" series. Maria gets ready to read a story to Big Bird and Mr. Snuffleupagus before their nap, but since the library is closed, she reads the fairy tale section of the newspaper. The news articles appear as modified Sesame Street News Flash sketches, removing the logo, Kermit's introductory comments, and other broadcast references. Meanwhile, Big Bird thinks it's silly that Sesame Street News has only one reporter on its entire staff. At one point, Snuffy tells Maria that he wants to hear the story of the three animals, unable to remember what ones. Maria thinks it might be the story of "The Three Bears," and tells the story, with Big Bird and Snuffy imagining themselves in the role of Goldilocks (via illustrated thought balloons). After she finishes the story, Snuffy remembers that the animals in the story he wanted to hear about were pigs. Kermit appears at the end in new framing material, in which he is tired from such a busy day (as shown by the News Flash segments), and takes a nap with Big Bird and Snuffy.
