The LHL was founded in April 2013. Shortly after its launch, the names of eight teams that would participate were announced and a television contract was signed with Kaboom TV, who agreed to air all its matches. An announcement was made by Sanvi Smith, who owns the league that any Lovian would be allowed to purchase any of the teams, subject to his approval. The first season will begin in June 2013, and a fixture list for the 2013 season will be released soon. The teams will not be professional.
