  • The National Broadband Strategy Implementation Group (NBSIG) was a Standing Committee of the Online and Communications Council. The main role of the NBSIG was to oversee the implementation of the National Broadband Strategy and to provide a focal point for the coordination of activities at all levels of government in relation to broadband. The NBSIG was supported by three working groups. The NBSIG met for the first time in August 2003 and consisted of government officials representing all levels of government and the health, education and research sectors. It has played a key role in the development of the National Broadband Strategy and had a role in monitoring and evaluating its progress and success.
