The Revolution is a fictional revolution in George Orwell's 1945 novel Animal Farm. The revolution was a quick one, in which the animals, led by Snowball and Napoleon, rebelled against Mr. Jones and changed the name of the farm from Manor Farm to Animal Farm. The animals were inspired by Old Major (representing Karl Marx and/or Vladimir Lenin) and his teachings of animalism (representing communism). The revolution itself mirrors the Russian Revolution of 1917.
