Believing it to be Thadiun Okona, he pursued the thief until finding him boarded on the USS Enterprise-D after his ship became disabled. He demanded from Captain Jean-Luc Picard that Okona be turned over to him. He also found Debin there, believing Okona had impregnated his daughter, Yanar. Kushell's son then admitted he was the father of Yanar's child and that he had Okona give the jewel Yanar as a marriage proposal. Despite the feud, Kushell accepted the marriage. (TNG: "The Outrageous Okona" ) Kushell was played by Albert Stratton.

Na závěr se mezi otci znovu rozpoutá spor o to, kde mladí lidé budou žít a kde bude vychováváno jejich dítě (TNG: The Outrageous Okona).
