  • The Girls' Programming Network (GPN) is a group at Sydney University, Sydney, Australia doing outreach to girls in Years 7 to 12 (approximately ages 12 to 18). University-aged tutors instruct them on the basics of computer programming in Python and introductory computer science. GPN runs workshops each school term on a different topic, from digital media to artificial intelligence. Recent workshop topics have included building a Game in a Day, writing a machine-learning (Markov-model) "homework generator", and a workshop on 'Computers from the ground up', which covered how a computer works, from logic gates to high-level languages.
