Bristol Rovers finally earned their first home win of the 2012–13 season two months into the campaign in this League Two clash with Northampton Town. Northampton had Anthony Charles sent off in an otherwise quiet first half, but The Pirates had to wait until after the break to open the scoring. Loanee Tom Eaves was the first to find the net, before defender Garry Kenneth doubled the advantage four minutes later. No doubt some doubts crept into the minds of the Rovers players and fans when Adebayo Akinfenwa pulled one back for the Cobblers on the 75-minute mark, but Oliver Norburn sealed the victory with six minutes left to play.

  • Bristol Rovers finally earned their first home win of the 2012–13 season two months into the campaign in this League Two clash with Northampton Town. Northampton had Anthony Charles sent off in an otherwise quiet first half, but The Pirates had to wait until after the break to open the scoring. No doubt some doubts crept into the minds of the Rovers players and fans when Adebayo Akinfenwa pulled one back for the Cobblers on the 75-minute mark, but Oliver Norburn sealed the victory with six minutes left to play. It was the first goal in Bristol Rovers colours for all three of The Gas's scorers, and for Eaves and Norburn it was their first ever goals in senior football. Former Rovers goalkeeper Shane Higgs sat on the Northampton bench for the duration of this match.
