Muhajirin or Muhajirun (Arabic المهاجرون The Emigrants) refer to the early Meccan Muslims who accompanied Muhammad on his Hijrah, the migration from Mecca to Medina. Because of their faith, the Muhajirun were subject to the oppression, persecution and torture of Meccan pagans, and they left their homeland for Medina as the dosage of persecutions and tortures became unbearable.
