Being named Legatus Augustus of the province of Dacia at the age of 31, he found himself leading one of the largest armies in history to retake Greece from a force of rebels. Once he successfully defeated the main rebel army in 534, he was recalled to Rome to be named Dacian Consul as a reward for his services to the empire.
