Kippi welcomes Zelda, saying that everyone is welcome at a seder. Kippi gives everyone a Hagaddah, the book that tells the story of Passover. He explains the story, and shows the foods on the seder plate. Then they realize that the matzah is gone, and they can't have the seder without it. Elmo realizes that he must have dropped it on his way back from the store. Outside on the street, the friends look for the missing matzah, as other Sesame Street families get together for their seders. After a long search, Elmo and Kippi hear crunching coming from Oscar's trash can. Oscar doesn't want to give the matzah back, but Kippi invites him to the seder, and says that there's other food that he'll enjoy there. The seder is a big success, and Oscar especially enjoys the sandwich made of matzah and bitter herbs.
