  • Percy, Annabeth Chase, Grover Underwood, and Tyson stop at the Triple G Ranch, where they see the dung-covered stables, which had not been cleaned for centuries. Percy makes a deal with Geryon that if he cleans the dung-covered stables, then Geryon will let them free. Percy's first idea was to use the nearby river like Hercules did, but the nearby Water Nymph refused to help him. She did however show him that he could make water appear, since the sea is always with him. Therefore he instead cleaned the stables by throwing petrified sea shells (from when Gaea and Ouranos reigned) at the dung, which caused springs of salt water to come out of the ground. When the stables were clean, after a little difficulty, Percy managed to turn of the spring, and race back to the ranch.
