  • Found in Season 2 Episode 5: Kaer of the Windlings * Spell Defense: 10 * Maximum Threads: 2 This is a beautiful curved blade that bears a remarkable resemblance to a t'shiv nika, or t'skrang Flowing Blade. It is obvious from the art and runes on the blade and pommel, however, that it is of elven design. It was created before the Scourge as a gift from an Elven Swordmaster to a T'skrang Boatman. The legend goes that against the wishes of his House, a T'skrang boatman taught the secrets of T'skrang swordsmanship with the Flowing Blade to the elf, returning a favor in which the elf saved the T'skrang's life from Theran slavers. They practiced in the dark hours of the night and grew to be fast friends through their training. Because they trained by moonlight, the Crescent is modeled after moon and starry night motifs. Without threads, the Flowing Blade is a size 3 weapon with a damage step of STR+5. It has a Strength and Dexterity minimum of 11. * Thread Rank One (100 LP) - Key Knowledge: The sword's name is the Crescent of the Moon's Shadow. Damage Step 6. The user may substitute their Dexterity Step instead of their Strength Step when dealing normal damage. Talents which are based on Strength (such as Crushing Blow) must still use Strength as normal. * Thread Rank Two (200 LP) - Damage Step 7. On an Extraordinary Success, the target struck by this blade becomes enshrouded by darkness and the target suffers vision penalties for Partial Darkness. Targets with Heat Vision, Low Light Vision, Astral Sight, or other method of seeing in the dark are not affected. This darkness lasts for Thread Rank rounds. * Thread Rank Three (300 LP) - Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn the name of the elf who created the sword. Damage Step 8. * Thread Rank Four (500 LP) - Key Knowledge: The wielder must learn the name of the T'skrang who was the intended recipient of the sword. On an Excellent success, the target becomes enshrouded in darkness, as the Thread Rank Two effect. This is a Full Darkness penalty, but still has no effect on targets with Heat Vision, Low Light Vision, etc. This darkness lasts for Thread Rank rounds. * Thread Rank Five (800 LP) - Deed: The wielder must travel to the home of the T'skrang who originally received the sword. There, during the night, the wielder must train in secret for a week and a day. This deed is worth 800 LP. Damage Step 9. * Thread Rank Six (1300 LP) - Key Knowledge: The T'skrang Boatman lost the sword when he died while defeating a Horror. The wielder must find the name of the Horror and pay their respect to the Boatman at the river near his home. The darkness effect of the blade can be applied to the target at the cost of 2 Strain, as long as the success level of the attack is Average or higher. This darkness cannot be bypassed by Heat Vision or Low Light Vision (but all other means of bypassing darkness still apply like Astral Sight). This darkness lasts for Thread Rank rounds.
