Around S.A. 3400, King Elendil of Arnor and Gondor granted him the title of Prince of Belfalas and the lands to the north the peninsula. Edhelion's fief became known as Dor-en-Ernil, the "Land of the Prince." His heirs founded Lond Ernil, which later became known as Dol Amroth.
