Encaria was the homeworld of the Encari, an isolationist people. The planet was located just two light years from Romulan space. In 2159, during the Earth-Romulan War, an alien vessel of Encari design was observed surveying the planets in the Epsilon Theta system as the region was infected by a mutagenic virus created by the Romulans. The Enterprise (NX-01) was sent to Encaria to investigate. Upon scanning the planet, it was discovered that the planet had been poisoned with the same disease that infected Epsilon Theta, but it was much further along in the ecosystem. Nothing on the planet survived the virus, not even plant or animal life. (ST video game: Legacy)
