Unlike the majority of Savant Caste, Mercius held no prejudices toward the lower castes when searching for his potential successor, which ultimately led to his choosing Krovo Scrios as the Oracle and future Harbinger. Following his discover of Scrios, Mercius came to believe the young Voidborn was the prophesied Final Prophet, a sentiment that Scrios himself came to endorse and seek to make a reality. Although it was his successor, Scrios, that began the Charon invasion of the realspace galaxy, Mercius laid the plans and groundwork for the progression of the future conflict, and was often attributed as the architect for the war between the two galaxies. Krovo particularly revered Nothian as a mentor, and shaped many of his ideals from the tutelage Mercius provided him. Born in 1,487 ABY, Mercius was nearly six centuries of age by the time of his death and Krovo's succession, but was still considered to have been as physically formidable as a Heth a fraction of his age, and prior to the discovery of Scrios, the magnitude of his strength in the Void was not only unmatched, but unrivaled as well.
