Effington County was created in the 1860s, and named after a founder's home town. Small tremors were felt near the city of Simpton from 1912 and 1914. Afterwards, the Effington-Sanderson Fault was discovered. In 1969, the citizens of Effington noticed a growing problem with alcohol and tobacco. A new law was proposed to heavily tax the items. In 2003, southern Effington County saw the completion of Dragoonasag Interstate Route 392 near the city of Lilpark.
