| - Trevor Challis is a left back who played for Rovers between 1998 and 2003. Challis was spotted as a 14 year old by scouts from Arsenal who invited him to their Centre of Excellence. He joined Queens Park Rangers aged 16 as YTS apprentice before turning pro in 1994. He broke into the first team in late 1995 and went on to make 11 Premiership appearances that season. Disaster struck the following season when he suffered a bad knee injury in a match against Norwich City. 19 months and four operations later, Trevor was looking for a new club and old QPR team mate Ian Holloway gave him a chance at Rovers. He was a regular for the club for much of his five years at the club but in the 2002-03 season, he found his chances extremely limited. He scored the only goal of his career during his spell at the club in a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic. He moved onto Telford United the following season, but his spell there was to last just eight months as the club, unsuccessfully, battled against bankruptcy. He joined local rivals Shrewsbury Town in March 2003 and soon become a hero at the club by scoring the winning penalty in the Conference play-off Final against Aldershot Town. He was a regular for the club in their first season back in the football league, but was released at the end of the season. Weymouth won the battle for his signature and he remained there until 2008, when he signed for Eastleigh. He was dogged by knee problems throughout his career, and he finally retired from playing in 2010, at the age of 34. Away from playing, Trevor returned to Bristol as a coach with Bristol Pro Soccer, as well as working in the academy setup at Bristol City.
