When the Vessel dies, the Ragnarok Spirit is reincarnated into a newborn in a timespan of 250 years, give or take 50 years or so, who becomes the next Vessel. Once the Vessel Masters the Four Elements, namely Air, Water, Earth and Fire, and also Masters the Ragnarok State he or she is commonly noted to be a "Fully Realized Vessel".

Among the 5 Great Nations, when the Sages see their "wall of ancients" glow, they trace the timing to the birth of newborns in the nations and test those children to see if they are th new Vessel. Seireitou was the exception, being the only one to not been recognized until he was in his 30's. Once the Vessel Masters the Four Elements, namely Air, Water, Earth and Fire, and also Masters the Ragnarok State he or she is commonly noted to be a "Fully Realized Vessel".
