Papa Smurf who asked us to do the housework in an abandoned house in the village. Three of them are the laughing stock of the village: Clumsy Smurf, Smurf and Smurf Peureux Beta. These three Smurfs decide to go in search of the lake and find out if the Hero Smurf exists. They leave the sly.

They leave the sly. That evening, we discover their absence at dinner. The next morning, a "rescue team" composed of three other Smurfs hand to their rescue; this team is composed of particular Handyman Smurf and Brainy. While the rescue team accumulates setbacks (loss of bearings, refuge in a cave, unable to escape, attack by bats, etc), the team manages three Smurfs near Dragon Mountain thanks to stork brought them They find the Dragon Lake, fed to a water source. They bathe in the lake. But they are very disappointed: the water is not miraculous and gives no extraordinary force; it does not prevent pain or injury. Suddenly, two humans appear: an old man and his page. The three Smurfs hide. They recognize the features of the old man: it is the Baron who they had once given a treasure they had found "in their great hunger." Baron welcomes them with kindness and benevolence. He explains that he has spent the money of the treasure. But having discovered this source, it has to benefit. Indeed, this source if it is not magic and transformed person superheroes, has beneficial properties, especially for soothing rheumatism. It intends to create a spa that will, he thinks, extremely experienced. Now knowing the truth about the source and the lake, three Smurfs leave the area and return to the village. As they return home, the Baron decides to make a "drop of water". This water flows into the river that feeds the village of Smurfs, threatened to be engulfed. Papa Smurf and his little Smurfs swim upstream the river and see that abnormal flow from a new water supply. But just when all seems lost and where Papa Smurf plans to evacuate the village, the three Smurfs, following an accumulation of blunders, create a landslide which stops in extremis the arrival of water in the supernumerary river. The village is saved, and the three Smurfs are celebrated as heroes.
