In 2269, Kirrin was working as a dilithium miner in Beta Thoridar's asteroid belt when new security measures were instituted after the death of Malvak which caused a delay when he tried to board his shuttle. This delay led to him missing his shuttle and as he turned to leave a HemQuch guard attacked him with a painstik, leading to a riot. This riot led to the dome of the station popping and Kirrin's subsequent death. (ST - Seven Deadly Sins novella: The Unhappy Ones)
