In feudal Japan, Musashi Miyamoto must cofront Kojiro Sasaki on Ganryu Island, but he meets Arale Norimaki, Gatchan and Taro Soramame on the way. Musashi tries to impress Arale and her friends with his talents as a swordsman and his way to catch flies with chopsticks, but he fails miserably. Impressed by Arale's power, he asks her to take him as her disciple. Arale accepts and the gang brings him to the present. Musashi Miyamoto becomes a student in Midori Yamabuki's class, leaving Kojiro Sasaki waiting in the past for eternity.

- Since Musashi uses two blades at once many of his weapons are a combination of previously wielded Oni weapons.

- Musashi is a playable character in Sengoku BASARA 2. He has a wild looking appearance, wielding an oar (a reference to his historical fight against Kojirō Sasaki) and a bokken (wooden sword), with black stripes on his cheeks. He returns as a deadly non-playable character in Sengoku BASARA 4 Sumeragi. His appearance is more or less the same, except for the fact that he now wears a balaclava (ninja mask). If the player is knocked down if/when Musashi is summoned by the Roulette wheel, the player must get up quickly or suffer an instant death. It is possible (though difficult) to defeat him and be rewarded.
- Musashi Miyamoto is widely considered to be one of Japan's greatest swordsmen. He is famous for his duels and for authoring The Book of Five Rings, in which he details the principles and practices for his self-taught dual sword wielding style. After his death, many conflicting accounts of his life were made and romanticized into modern fiction. The Nobunaga no Yabou 201X poll for 4-star officers puts him in sixteenth place.

After his death, many conflicting accounts of his life were made and romanticized into modern fiction. Before his playable Samurai Warriors appearance, his name is one of the default names for bodyguards. Scrolls named after the principles mentioned in his book also appear in the series's first game. Fans voted him in fifty-fourth place for the Samurai Warriors 4 poll. The Nobunaga no Yabou 201X poll for 4-star officers puts him in sixteenth place.
