Josef arrived at the place shortly after 12:00am, but as he got out of the van, he was contacted by his father. Sergei told him about the deal he had made and convinced him of surrendering. At this moment, Samir shot him from the rooftop, killing him. Chloe O'Brian attempted to trace the call, but only found out they were near to the park before Samir smashed the phone and she lost the signal. Samir then took the nuclear rods to another location.
