In addition to managing the global supply chains for multi-national corporations, DexM Corporation also takes a controlling ownership interest in manufacturing companies when it feels that it cannot find a source of supply around the world that is reliable for quality, delivery or price on a particular product. DexM Corporation was an outgrowth of Innotek Corporation, a business Mr. Pope purchased previously that manufactures complex fluid power and fluid handling systems for the power generation, nuclear power plant, construction equipment and medical industries around the world. Mr. Pope continues to be the Chairman of the Board of Innotek Corporation and remains active in its strategic direction and ownership. Mr. Pope was named Entrepreneur of the Year for the State of Wisconsin by then Governor Jim Doyle. The award cited Mr. Pope’s accomplishments at Dexm Corporation assisting to reinvent American competitiveness with low cost countries like China and India. In addition to DexM and Innotek Corporations, Mr. Pope owns through a holding company, a majority interest in Novum Corporation, which is one of the world's largest design, manufacturing and installation companies for complex glass structures and glass atriums. Novum Corporation's niche is to focus on manufacturing and designing glass atriums for skyscrapers, museums, and glass structures around the world. Novum Corporation has offices in the Middle East, Asia, the United States and Europe. Mr. Pope is the founder of Corporate Financial Advisors (CFA), a leading middle market investment banking firm located in the Midwest. CFA provides both Merger and Acquisition advice as well as capital to a broad range of middle market privately held companies. Mr. Pope has retired from the firm to focus his time on managing his portfolio of companies and to also pursue buying companies for his own account. He remains Of Counsel to CFA. Mr. Pope has owned a variety of companies in various industry sectors and has sat on the board of numerous private companies and not for profit organizations. He is currently a Board Member of The RAND Corporation, the largest foreign policy, defense and technology non-profit think tank in the world. In this role, Mr. Pope’s focus is oversight of the Middle East Public Policy group at Rand. He is very involved in Foreign Policy development in the Middle East through Rand and assists Rand with tying Foreign Policy initiatives in the Middle East to the private sector. Mr. Pope is the Co-Chairman, along with Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, of RAND’s Middle East Delegation in February 2008 to meet with a majority of the Arab and Israeli leaders. Mr. Pope is also on the Board of Directors of Karabus Management, the leading management consulting firm in North America serving the retail sector and whose clients include Saks fith Avenue, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and most large big box stores like Best Buy. Mr. Pope’s philanthropic interests center around children (with a particular focus on orphans and children with medical challenges), the environment and education. Mr. Pope is very active in the leadership of the Young Presidents Organization, which is a not for profit organization comprised of CEOs under age 55 and dedicated to advancing the leadership of these CEOs in the world. Mr. Pope has served as Chapter Chair of the Wisconsin Chapter of YPO and is currently Chairman of the International Chapter, which is comprised of some of the most prominent and influential CEOs in the world. Mr. Pope is a YPO Group and Section Leader at Harvard Business School, and was the Education Chairman of the Sydney Australia University. He is currently a member of the California Coast Chapter of YPO (Southern California) and serves on its board of directors. He is the co-founder and Education Chairman of the YPO Deal Network, a global organization of YPO members interested in Mergers and Acquisitions. The Deal Network was started less than one year ago and already has almost 700 YPO and WPO members as part of it.
