- Christianity is the religion of the majority of the people in the Federated States of Micronesia, Roman Catholicism and Protestantism being the two most popular denominations. Most immigrants are Catholics from the Philippines. Minority religions include Baptists, Jehovah's Witnesses, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Baha'i Faith. About 1% of the people of the Federated States of Micronesia are Buddhists. The constitution guarantees religious freedom, which is largely respected.
- The Federated States of Micronesia consists of over 600 islands in four states (Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae, and Pohnpei) between 1º and 10º N latitude and 138º to 163º E longitude. The mid-year 2002 population estimate for the Federated States of Micronesia was 110,700 people (SPC 2003).
- The Federal States of Micronesia is made up of states, in this case four of them, each one made up by a lot of islands. The states are Chuuk, Yap, Kosrae and Pohnpei, the last two states being made up by an only island. They were a special territory of The United States (to be more specific, Trust Territory), formed their own constitutional government in 1979 and were given independence in 1986. But before the Americans took over the place, it was a German colony took by Japan in World War I. Before the Germans, it was a Spanish colony. And even before them, it was a Portuguese colony.
- The Federated States of Micronesia i/ˌmaɪkroʊˈniːʒə/ (FSM) is an independent sovereign island nation consisting of four states – from west to east, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae – that are spread across the Western Pacific Ocean. Together, the states comprise around 607 islands (a combined land area of approximately 702 km2 (271 sq mi)) that cover a longitudinal distance of almost 2,700 km (1,678 mi) just north of the equator. They lie northeast of New Guinea, south of Guam and the Marianas, west of Nauru and the Marshall Islands, east of Palau and the Philippines, about 2,900 km (1,802 mi) north of eastern Australia and some 4,000 km (2,485 mi) southwest of the main islands of Hawaii.

The language of the country is English, but a lot of native languages are used at local levels. Not having a lot of minerals, the country subsists mainly by fishing and farming. Being so isolated from the world is a drawback when it comes to international trade. The island of Yap is also known for having “stone money”, huge rocks with the form of coins, as if a giant had lost some change there.
