Because it had been so long since the stories of an actual super saiyan existing had occured, it was declared that broly, a young saiyan baby had been born a super saiyan, and while he was different from every other saiyan from the past and every super saiyan to come later on in the future, he himself was not the true Legendary Super Saiyan. As time passed, multiple saiyans ascended into their super states, which came from obvious training, unlike the previous saiyans who spent too much time warring with other planets and pirateering.

As time passed, multiple saiyans ascended into their super states, which came from obvious training, unlike the previous saiyans who spent too much time warring with other planets and pirateering. One saiyan in particular, reached many levels, and his name was Goku. Goku was born a low level saiyan and was shipped off to Planet Earth where he would clear it of its population in order for it to be sold to other parties. However everybody knows the rest of the story. Goku faced many adversaries, even dying from some of his battles only to return to the world of the living to be its sole hero, though for a short period of three years, his son Gohan took responsibility. One battle in particular, forced Goku to regrow his tail which had been missing eversince he was a child. This in part, caused Goku to turn into a golden Oozaru, which later lead to him becoming a Super Saiyan 4, which in traditional saiyan terms, meant that he was a normal saiyan. It wasn't until Goku fought Raaz, a Saiyan with forbidden powers courtesy of the limitless white star dragonballs, that Goku was forced to go beyond and reach Super Saiyan 5, The Legendary Super Saiyan level. With the galatic alignment giving off scores of energy, Goku took advantage of the situation and finished Raaz off with the Galatic Kamehameha, the most powerful attack ever used, minus fusion techniques.
